A practice for sites demoted by Google.

Restore SEO Agency runs forensic SEO recovery for sites whose organic traffic correlates with a named Google algorithm update or a manual-action notification in Search Console. The work is per-incident: one forensic audit, one diagnosis, one remediation project against the system that actually did the demoting. Not a monthly retainer. Not generalist SEO. Not ongoing services after the recovery work ships.

Methodology

Recovery shape depends entirely on which Google system demoted the site. Panda (launched February 2011, integrated into the core algorithm from 2015 onward, mechanism per Google Patent 8,682,892 granted March 2014) demoted thin-content sections via a section-wide modification factor. Penguin (launched April 24, 2012, real-time and URL-level after Penguin 4.0 on September 23, 2016) shifted from sitewide demotion to per-link discounting — which makes disavow largely redundant for algorithmic Penguin cases and reserves the disavow workflow for manual-action remediation. The Helpful Content System (launched August 18, 2022 as a continuous sitewide weighted classifier) was distributed across multiple core ranking systems by the March 5, 2024 Core Update, changing recovery from single-classifier rollback to broad quality-signal improvement.

Each of these reads differently in the signature pattern. HCS demotes the entire site evenly. Panda hits thin-content sections specifically. Reviews System (2023+ expansion, including the medical-content framework) demotes review-style pages specifically. Manual actions show in GSC with category-specific language (unnatural links, thin content, scaled content abuse under the March 2024 spam-policy formalization, site reputation abuse under enforcement that began May 5, 2024). The forensic audit reads the signature against the dated traffic drop before any remediation scope is quoted — most agencies skip this step because the diagnostic substrate is multi-year and update-specific, and guessing at recovery is faster (and wrong often enough that buyers cycle through several agencies before finding one that actually identifies the cause).

Engagement shape

Per-incident project, never retainer. A forensic audit comes first — fixed-fee, days, deliverable is which-system-demoted-and-why with signature-pattern evidence. Remediation scope is quoted against that diagnosis. Most engagements run weeks to months depending on the remediation surface (content rebuild scope, link-profile cleanup scale, reconsideration-request authoring complexity). Once the recovery work ships and the diagnostic signature reverses, the engagement is complete. Ongoing SEO is a different craft — when clients want it after recovery, the right answer is a referral, not a retainer.

No guarantees are made on recovery outcome. Google has stated publicly that no third party can guarantee recovery from manual actions or algorithmic demotions — the review and reprocessing happen inside systems Restore does not control. What can be guaranteed is the forensic-audit deliverable (the diagnosis, the evidence, the per-system remediation scope) and the quality of the remediation work that follows.

Founder

Founded by Yan Dobromyslov, who has delivered SEO recovery work across multiple verticals affected by Google algorithm updates and manual-action enforcement. Restore is the productized practice of that work — the same diagnostic methodology, applied at agency scope. Vertical-agnostic by design: algorithm demotion is global, and the per-system recovery mechanism is the same whether the demoted site is medical, legal, e-commerce, SaaS, affiliate, or publisher.
